Patch Notes 2.3: Wild Hunt
Explorers, this update focused on major goals: making the start of your journey smoother and more welcoming, while introducing challenging new activities for our veteran players who have seen it all and are looking for fresh adventures. Let’s dive into the details.
NEW BOSSES & PROGRESSION
Those changes introduce major changes to how you find, capture, and level up your Amikins.
Alpha Amikins
Introducing Alpha Amikins, powerful bosses designed to challenge experienced players. These bosses scale to your character's current level and are stronger than their standard versions.
They spawn only during special weather conditions at specific coordinates within the main locations. Each location features one elemental boss for each of the 4 weather types, making a total of 20 new bosses available across the Amiterra.
To assist with this planning, active weather is now marked directly on the world map, allowing you to check conditions before traveling. While a special boss icon appears on the mini-map once you arrive at a location with an active boss.
Upon locating an Alpha Amikin, you will find they are neutral by default and will not attack first, though you must note that these bosses cannot be caught.Once you defeat a specific boss, you will not encounter him again in this location with the same weather within a day.
Successfully defeating an Alpha Amikin guarantees a DNA Pod containing the DNA of the defeated species, establishing a reliable daily method to farm this valuable resource for free.
Catch Who You Want
You can now catch wild Amikins without the need to unlock them in the Codex first. This means that you no longer need to obtain DNA first for locked Amikin in Codex. However, DNA is still necessary to increase the Amikin’s rank.
Codex-Based Level Caps
Amikins can now be leveled up beyond your character's current level, as long as their Codex level allows it. For example, if you’ve raised an Amikin's rank to Rank 6, they can be upgraded to level 50, even if your character is only at level 48.
NEW CHESTS
Resource gathering in Amiterra is shifting its focus toward collecting chests, which now appear in a much higher concentration across all locations, allowing you to spend less time harvesting and focus more on combat.
Throughout these areas, you will encounter new chests and containers that contain not only the usual primary and secondary resources, but also drop-only materials, food, healing items, and even gear. Since some of these chests may be guarded by enemies, you should be prepared for a fight to claim your loot.
Finally, because you will be relying more on finding loot, the overall volume of resources you can gather with tools has been slightly reduced. Tool durability has also been lowered, as you will no longer need to spend as much time harvesting massive amounts of resources manually.
BALANCE ADJUSTMENTS
There are also a few balance changes aimed at reducing the overall grind and smoothing out your crafting workflows.
Recipe Simplification
Crafting recipes for secondary resources have been simplified to require fewer resources, reducing the overall grind.
— Tier 1 & 2 — require 2 primary resources instead of 4.
— Tier 3 & 4 — require 3 primary resources instead of 4.
— Tier 5 — no changes, still requires 4 primary resources.
Workstation Timing Synchronization
Production and processing times have been synchronized with gathering speeds. Playtests revealed that processing secondary materials took significantly longer than gathering primary resources, causing processing backlogs. Workstation timings are now rebalanced.
Berry Harvest Buff
Berry harvesting has been increased to ensure your Amikins stay well-fed and work efficiently at bases.
EXTRA CHANGES
We have made several smaller quality-of-life adjustments to make your journey in Amiterra much smoother:
— DNA Pods Rebalanced — DNA Pods now contain much more DNA, while the amount of Pods has been slightly reduced. Your overall DNA income remains the same.
— Amikin Size Scaling — To make battles cleaner and easier to follow, we've adjusted Amikin sizes by tier. Also, Dungeon Bosses are now slightly bigger, while Alpha Bosses are much more massive.
— Visual Polish — We have refreshed the visual designs for the DNA opening and the hatching of the egg in the incubator.
— Incubation Fixed — Fixed an issue where egg hatching progress stopped while the game was running and only resumed after a restart.
