Crafting: Random Stats and Ratings
January 29, 2025
Overview of Crafting
In Amikin Survival, crafting gear involves random stats and ratings. Every crafted item is unique, with stats and ratings determined by the recipe and chance. Understanding these mechanics will help you optimize your crafting efforts and resources.
How Crafting Works
When you craft an item, its stats are generated randomly within specific ranges:
- Core Attributes: These include weapon damage, armor strength, or tool effectiveness, and can vary by ±15% of the base value.
- Bonus Traits: Additional features like durability can vary by ±10%.
Example: A recipe for a staff might specify “Damage: 38-51.” The final damage value will fall somewhere within that range.
Item Ratings
Every crafted item is assigned a rating, which reflects its quality based on its stats. Ratings range from D to SS:
- D (Mediocre): -25% to -12% of the base value.
- C (Common): -11% to -1% of the base value.
- B (Balanced): 0% to +9% of the base value.
- A (Advanced): +10% to +18% of the base value.
- S (Superior): +19% to +24% of the base value.
- SS (Legendary): +25% or higher.
Example: A pistol with +10% damage and -5% durability might receive a B-rating for being well-balanced.
Recognizing High-Quality Gear
Items rated A or higher are visually distinct, making it easy to spot the best gear in your inventory. These items are designed for more challenging scenarios where higher performance is critical.
Durability and Breakage
Gear durability depends on its quality:
- A+ or Higher: These items never break completely. They can always be repaired, even after heavy use. Repairing an item requires the same amount of resources as crafting a new one, but this time, you’re guaranteed the same quality and stats
- Tier 1 Gear: Beginner-level items always break fully and cannot be repaired. These are capped at C or B ratings.
- Tools (Pickaxes, Axes): These always break completely, no matter their rating. Since their stats don’t impact performance, it’s more practical to craft a new one rather than repair it.
- Advanced Gear (Armbands): These always include the “Never Breaks Completely” feature for long-term reliability.
Key Takeaways
- Crafting is Random: Stats and ratings vary with each item.
- Ratings Indicate Quality: Higher-rated items are stronger and more durable.
- High-Quality Gear Lasts: Items rated A+ or higher will no longer disappear when their durability drops to 0. Instead, they can always be repaired, ensuring their continued usability.
- Repairing Lower-Rated Items: Items with a rating below A+ have weaker stats, so instead of repairing them, it’s often better to craft a new one. This gives you a chance to create a higher-ranked item with better stats.
Understanding crafting mechanics will help you make better decisions when creating gear and managing your resources.
