Patch Notes 1.4
Explorers, this update brings a wave of exciting changes. At its core lies the new Role System, letting your Amikins unite as a true team and unlock their full potential. But that’s not all — you’ll now be able to set foot in Dungeons, mysterious places brimming with challenges and valuable rewards. And even familiar systems have been reworked to feel fresh and more engaging than before. Dive into the details below and discover everything that awaits you!
AMIKIN COMBAT ROLES
Amikins now take on 3 distinct combat roles, each turning battles into something more tactical and diverse.
Amikin Roles
Combat now rests on two things: roles and elements that set strengths and weaknesses, and that define what each Amikin does in battle. With both working together, fights become clearer and more tactical.
Each role has its own purpose in battle and changes how your squad works together. Here’s how they play out.
Role: Defense
Built for the frontlines, Defense Amikins protect their partner and thrive under pressure. Each time they take a hit, their damage resistance grows stronger. Their Charged Attack fortifies their own defenses and provokes enemies to focus on them — shielding you from harm.
Role: Offense
Offense Amikins are built to strike hard and fast. They deal massive damage in a short time but have low endurance, relying on you for cover. Positioned between Defense and Support in range, their Charged Attack delivers a powerful blow to the target and damages nearby enemies.
Role: Support
Support Amikins prefer to stay behind the line, helping their partner in battle. Each of their hits weakens the enemy, making them take more damage from all attacks. Their Charged Attack enhances your Attack or Defense while restoring a portion of your HP.
And since combat now leans on roles and elements, we improved the Amikin swap panel so you can switch them with a single tap and instantly check each one’s HP, element, and role.
Element Changes
To make battles cleaner, we’ve removed the Physical element, keeping the rock–paper–scissors balance clear. Former Physical Amikins have been reassigned to other elements. At the same time, the perk system has been reworked to make each role stand out even more.
Reworked Perk System
Now perks are tied directly to roles — they’re the extension of each Amikin role and come with handy bonuses that highlight its playstyle.
Amikins can now have two types of perks:
— The Prime perk — it’s fixed and tied to the role. That means every Amikin of the same role will always share this core perk. For example, all Offense Amikins carry a perk that boosts their damage, while Defense Amikins gain extra resistance to help them endure longer in battle.
— Extra perks — almost the same as before, but now they’re tied to the Amikin’s role instead of being random. They complement the main perk and help the role shine even more. Depending on rarity, an Amikin may get up to 2 extra perks. Each adds its own flavor, from boosting damage to unlocking special effects.
— Random perk — any Amikin can get a random perk that affects its combat or working potential. This perk has a slight chance to appear when catching in the wild, but is guaranteed through other methods of obtaining Amikin.
Do not worry! All the Amikins you already own will have their perks gently updated to fit the new role-based system.
And to make this system work, we took a bold step that changes the core of progression itself.
EVOLUTION CHANGES
We believe every Amikin is unique and can stay with you through the whole journey — so we’ve decided to leave the evolution system behind. Here’s what that means:
— Every Amikin evolution now stands as a separate, independent unit.
— Stars in the Codex no longer show evolution but instead mark an Amikin’s rank. More stars mean more strength, and every Amikin can now rise all the way to 5 stars, adding depth to their progress and taking your journey further.
— The level system remains unchanged: you still need to level up your Amikins to raise their power, and the maximum level cap depends on the number of stars — just like before.
We know these are big changes, so to keep your journey smooth, all your progress carries over. If you had an Amikin at Evo 2 or 3, its earlier forms will now also appear in your Codex as separate Amikins, each keeping the same stars and rank progress. Any unused DNA remains with you as well, carried across these forms.
For example, if your Aquarrior was at Evo 3 with two segments, after the update you’ll also see Aquaki and Aqualisk in your Codex as separate Amikins — already holding 2 stars and 2 segments each.
DUNGEONS & PROGRESSION
Introducing Dungeons — a brand-new feature at the heart of progression. Inside, you’ll gather key resources, plan your tactics, and prepare for battles with bosses, all while hunting for materials that lead to stronger gear. Here’s how they work and what rewards they bring.
New Dungeons
From Tier 2 onward, every location comes with its own dungeon — a place for both farming and progression. Inside, you’ll face enemies of a single element that changes daily. As you fight through waves of Amikins, you’ll come across rewards along the way, each filled with useful materials and chances to find eggs, now available only in dungeons. Each run ends with a boss fight, and defeating it lets you open a chest that also contains the resources needed to unlock the path ahead.
Here’s a tip: pay attention to the elements and set up your squad with fitting roles before you head into a dungeon.
New Uncommon Gear
Gear now comes in rarities, and with this update we’re introducing the gear of Uncommon rarity. Common gear no longer needs special resources — those have moved into the recipes for Uncommon gear. To craft it, you’ll first collect Blueprint Parts in Dungeons to unlock Technologies, then gather the new Uncommon resources found there as well.
With these changes, gear and Amikin levels matter more than ever. Advancing to the next tier of equipment or leveling your Amikins now gives a clear edge, and gear upgrades boost both your character and your Amikins together — making progression smoother and more impactful.
All of this marks a new journey: dungeons are now the path to stronger gear, with greater rewards waiting the deeper you go.
Eggs Changes
Eggs have moved into Dungeons, and starting from Tier 2 each tier now holds 4 of them. They still grant DNA, with higher Tiers giving more, and each egg carries its own element — the DNA inside always matching Amikins of that element. And to hatch higher-Tier eggs, you’ll now need to upgrade your Incubator.
Dungeon Rules
Before you step inside, here are a few things to know:
— Each dungeon is tied to a single element — Fire, Water, Earth, or Electric — and this changes daily.
— Pro tip: check the element before entering and bring a squad that can counter it; the right mix of roles makes every fight smoother.
— The deeper you go, the stronger and more numerous the enemies become — but every few waves, a reward chest will be waiting for you.
— If you leave or fall in battle, your run resets — dungeons don’t save progress. So make sure your squad is ready before stepping in: bring enough healing and consumable items, and keep a spare weapon just in case.
— Dungeons reset once per day. After your first clear, you can dive back in — the challenge will rise, but the rewards will keep the same. Both the dungeon and its difficulty refresh daily.
So, to wrap it all together, your cycle is simple: go into a dungeon, pick up Blueprint Parts and materials, craft Uncommon gear, power up your Amikins, and get ready for the boss fight.
NEW AMIKIN & VISUAL CHANGES
This update also brings changes to Amikins’ look — and even adds a brand-new one.
New Amikin
Meet Flotton! This new Water Amikin takes the Support role, standing strong against Fire but vulnerable to Electric. Explorers can find Flotton wandering through Sparkfall Canyon and the Rusted Shallows.
Visual Changes
Along with this, some Amikins had their visual look updated to match their new elements, and a few names were changed to make them easier to tell apart now that evolutions are gone.
EXTRA CHANGES
Before the final notes, a quick word about balance. This update changes how we see combat in game. With roles, perks, and dungeons shaping the new flow, we’ve retuned several locations and strengthened gear progression to match.
— Locations Rebalance — We mentioned dungeons already and alongside them, locations have been rebalanced. The wilds are calmer now, with fewer Amikins roaming around and enemies tuned down in strength, especially in early zones. Spawn rotations have also been refreshed to match the new flow.
— Updated Teleport — Teleport points have been rearranged across locations, and new teleport spots were added near dungeons. You can also instantly travel between two points inside the same location.
— Codex Refreshed — We also upgraded the Codex to keep loot sources clear: once you’ve found DNA for an Amikin, its page now shows all current DNA sources. Tap a source to see the exact items — which eggs and DNA Pods. We also refreshed Amikin habitats across Amiterra, updating spawn points to match the new flow.
— Elderglow Meadows Rework — the landscape has been changed and visually enhanced with more detail and new landmarks that give the location a grander look.
Amiterra has entered a new era — assemble your team, master the new systems, and conquer the challenges ahead!
